How to Do Smokey Eye Makeup - Step by Step!

The smokey eye is sexy and mysterious. The best thing about it is that it looks great on everybody! From young girls to mature women...even on boys! (Punk rock smokey eyes that is!..think Pete Wentz). Smokey eyes never go out of fashion! I suggest wearing the smokey eye at night as a dress up thing, rather than everyday. You want them to be sexy...not gothic.

It's quite easy to achieve when done correctly. I'm going to talk you through it step by step so you too can rock the smokey eye!

1. Use a medium sized eye shadow brush to apply white/flesh toned eyeshadow from the bottom of your eyelid up to your eyebrow. It shouldn't be heavy, just enough so that it gives you a clean palette of colour to work on.

2. Take a black pencil eyeliner and line the tops of both lids, not too heavily

3. Using the medium eye shadow brush, apply light grey eyeshadow over your eyelid only

4. Use a small eyeshadow brush to apply black eyeshadow to the outside of your lids and half way across the top of your eyelid. Kind of like an 'R' shape on your left eye and a back to front 'R' shape on your left

5. Apply eyeliner underneath your eyes, lightly for daytime and heavier for night wear

6. Apply black mascara to the top and bottom

7. Curl them

8. Go out and show them off!

Little Things to Keep the Romance Alive

Don't you miss how you and your partner spent hours together hands in hand watching a sunset or walking on the beach. Well, so does he! Instead of being frustrated and dropping hints to him on how you feel, maybe you should start taking some steps to bring back romance in your life. Little things will bring back the spark and soon, your partner will also follow suit and enjoy the renewed romance in your lives.

Here are some little things that will keep the romance alive in your relationship whether you are married or even have kids to take care of:

1. Complements Never Fail: Your partner seems to have forgotten to notice when you wear a new dress or try a new shade of lipstick or do your hair in a different way. But what about you? Do you notice when he suddenly look much more handsome on a particular day? Take time out of your work and kids to notice his looks and complement him. It's not only just the looks. Encouraging complements on his work, achievements and what a great Dad he is, will motivate and re-energize him.

2. Take Interest in His Life: Maybe it bores you to death when he spends a whole day in the garage painting or washing his car and you simply cannot stand when he watches one of those never-ending automotive shows on TV, but do think again. They are not that boring really. Maybe once or twice, you could really find yourself interested in how beautiful a certain new car looks or how an old car gets converted to a brand new one. Take some interest, give your own ideas and comments and if you are really dumb on the topic, ask questions about it! He will be glad to answer and even more glad that you asked.

3. Go for a Ride: It might seem impossible to plan and go out for a ride what with cooking for the entire family, dropping kids to their school, shopping for groceries, picking up kids from school and then cooking again. But how about squeezing it in when doing one of your errands together. When returning from the grocery store, take a longer route and spend time talking to each other.

4. Listen to Music: Of course not at home! You would hardly be able to persuade your kids to give up listening to their favorite songs and play your own and neither will you find the time. Use your car for that purpose. Whenever you are together in the car, play your favorite songs. Every couple has songs that are special for them. Burn a CD of just those songs and keep it in the car so you can listen to it whenever you find time together.

5. Get Physical: Not in that way, we mean. A soothing touch when he is feeling down, holding hands when in a crowd, a hug when he has excelled in some way or the other or simply a touch on his shoulder when you pass by his chair. It all does wonders to any relationship. If you can find after the kids go to bed, spend time cuddled on the couch browsing a magazine together or watching TV or simply talking.

6. Little Surprises: A post-it-note saying 'I have fallen in love all over again.....with YOU!' or a love note in his lunch box or a simple 'I Love You' SMS will make his day. We all need to know how much we are loved. Take some effort and cook him his favorite dish (that you never make because everybody else in the family detests it). Buy him a gift or surprise him by giving him time off from any of his regular errands. Decorate your bedroom for a romantic evening together or plan a surprise candle-light dinner.

7. Pamper Him: On a Sunday, plan a surprise 'Pamper Routine' for him. Give him a facial or a back or foot massage (or a combination) along with a hot oil massage. It will soothe his aching body and relax his mind as well. When the massage is done, give him the luxury of a aromatic bath that you prepared beforehand.

8. Go Back in Time: Romantic memories will re-kindle the romance in your lives. Talk about those times and see photo albums of your honeymoon and other vacations together. Take out all your memorabilia - love cards, little gifts, notes, the first rose, locks of hair etc. and remember what went into each memory.

All these little things will help keep the flame of romance burning and give you a happier married life with your beloved.

Tea- for your healthy lifestyle

More than half of us are fooling ourselves that we eat and drink healthily and as a result, suffering fatigue and bad moods

Men and women aged from 25 to 54 in ‘moderate distress’ were significantly more likely to be consuming considerably less than the recommended number of portions of fruit and vegetables. All of those who admitted they ate the wrong foods were in ‘moderate or severe distress.’

Living a healthy lifestyle is associated with helping us to feel good. Eating a balanced diet, drinking enough fluid such as tea (which also contains antioxidants); limiting our alcohol intake; taking physical activity; and having a good balance between work and leisure is linked with an increased sense of well being

Tips for Getting Pregnant

For many women waiting for conception can be a stressful and anxious time so Female First got some top tips for getting pregnant from midwife Sharon Trotter....

the best time to get pregnant:

Depending on the length of your menstrual cycle (these can vary from 21-35 days and even longer) ovulation usually occurs around 14 days before your period starts i.e. if your cycle is normally 28 days then you will ovulate on the 14th day. This gives a window of 3-4 days when pregnancy can be achieved. This is the best time to try for a baby.

How do you make the best of your 3-4 day window :
Ovulation occurs when an egg/ovum is released from a mature follicle within the ovary. This usually happens once a month throughout a woman’s reproductive life.
How to tell if you are ovulating:
Basal body temperature (BBT): daily temperature recordings show that at ovulation your temperature spikes by 0.5 -1 degree centigrade.
Cervical mucus changes: around the time of ovulation the mucus in the cervix changes from being thick and opaque to become thin, clear and stringy. This is also a sign that a woman is at her most fertile.
Ovulation tests, such as the First Response Ovulation Test, can be bought from Boots and chemists. They are simple urine tests that detect specific hormone (luteinising hormone), which signal ovulation.
Blood tests and ultrasound scans of the ovary will give conclusive evidence of ovulation but are not usually required unless infertility is suspected. Speak to your GP if you have any concerns

How do you use an ovulation test properly :
Ovulation test sticks predict ovulation by testing levels of luteinising hormone (LH) which surges to stimulate the release of an egg. The sticks are simple to use urine tests and should ideally be used first thing in the morning when levels will not be diluted by fluids you have drunk. A positive result will mean that you will ovulate in the next 24 to 36 hours.

Count the first day of your period as day one then use the table below to work out when to start testing. If your cycle varies by a few days each month work out the average for the last 3 months. The day you begin testing is listed below the number of days in your normal cycle. For example, looking at the chart, if your period normally begins every 28 days, you should begin testing 11 days from the beginning of your last period.

Now you know when you ovulate you can maximise the changes of conception. Once released, eggs only live for about 24 hours. Sperm on the other hand can live for 5 days so it makes sense for the sperm to have already made their journey to the egg, ready and waiting for the egg when it is released. If you wait until ovulation has happened to try, the chances of the egg and sperm finding each other are slimmer.

As well as having sex before ovulation also ensure the sperm are fresh enough. It’s best that your partner doesn’t try to build his own personal sperm bank by saving up, as the quality and quantity will be reduced. As well as having sex with fresh sperm at your LH surge, once you know your cycle better, have sex every other day from about 7 days before you are due to ovulate to maximise your chances. By doing this there is time for your partner to make enough sperm to increase your chances of conception. If your cycle is irregular have sex every couple of days from the end of your period.

How long should you leave between pregnancies?
Breastfeeding is nature’s way of making the natural, and therefore safer, gap between children longer (usually around 2-3 years). This benefits both mother and infant. However breastfeeding should not be relied upon as a method of contraception.

The new and improved First Response Early Results Pregnancy test (rrp from £8.25) can now detect the pregnancy hormone up to six days before a woman’s missed period – two days before other at-home tests.

The new test is available to buy as single (rrp £8.25) or double pack (rrp £10.95) from Boots, Superdrug, Sainsbury’s and independent chemists nationwide.

Women: chocolate for the first one and sex can wait.

finally, we can conclude that men are from Mars & women are from... yeah...from some strange land! Chocolates over sex, in a recent poll for the Princes Quay Shopping Center in Hull, is what women have told. Now it baffles me how can a bar of chocolate available so easily at a store be more valuable than having a great night in bed? The mind of women is strange indeed, or is it?

First, before we move any further let me put the whole survey into perspective for you. Let me be a good reporter (for one time only) & stop sensationalizing this stuff. This is the actual order of priority for women, as they have revealed in the little survey.

let's go to the result top ten poll:

1. Being with family
2. Being in love
3. Holidays
4. Chocolate
5. Sex
6. Shopping
7. Being with friends
8. great day
9. Nights out with friends
10. Going out for dinner

Now if you take a careful look at the top of this list then it says staying with family. That is sweet, real sweet. Then it says, Being in love. Ah! How touching. If this continues I might just end up crying. Third on the list is A holiday. Now thats more like it. Ok, all kidding apart, this survey says nothing new. It just shows that women are sensitive, caring & just have always given more importance to Emotional side of things than physical side.

Then there are chocolates, followed by sex. Now, this is not that surprising if you think about it properly. Baffled? Well, let me make myself a bit clearer. Chocolates are cheap, they are cleanly packed, they stay where they are kept, they melt off easily & most importantly once you are done with them, they leave a pleasant taste in your mouth (unlike men). See, I aint taking sides, Im just hoping to unravel the mystery for you behind this choice (even though my logic is bad).

See, what Im most pleased with this list is that shopping comes in at 6. Now, I hope some of the gals I know are reading this carefully. Shopping is at 6 girls, not 1. Anyway, it was a great poll to take & Im sure it was all in just good fun. Finally, before I leave you with your own thoughts on the matter, I said earlier that chocolates are cheap. Im sure some of my friends of fairer sex (who are very unfair critics) might say men are cheaper. To that all I say is-perception
